About Farsight Vision

Farsight Vision develops AI-powered geospatial intelligence solutions for defence and security operations. The platform transforms raw aerial and sensor data into real-time 3D environments, actionable analytics, and AI-assisted operational scenarios, enabling enhanced situational awareness, mission planning, and faster decision-making for both human operators and autonomous systems. We operate at the intersection of geospatial data, computer vision, and defense operations – and if that interests you, read on.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to own our technical documentation end-to-end – from developer-facing API and integration guides to the manuals, instructions, and one-pagers our operators rely on in the field. This is not a role for someone who waits for a fully-scoped task and writes only what is spelled out. You will sit between engineering, product, and the people using our platform in live operations, figure out what needs to be written before anyone asks, and make complex systems understandable.

Responsibilities

Own the full body of technical writing – developer materials (API references, SDK and integration guides) and product-facing content (operator manuals, step-by-step instructions, in-app help, release notes) – and keep all of it accurate as the product changes weekly

Work directly with engineers to extract how systems actually work, then translate that into clear, correct material without needing every detail handed to you

Build and maintain the information structure and writing toolchain from the ground up, since you will be the first and only writer

Talk to real users – including operators and military representatives – to understand where they get stuck, and close those gaps with the right instructions and guides

Write for two very different audiences – developers integrating with the platform and operators using it under pressure – and keep the voice right for each

Produce clear one-pagers and reference materials for internal teams and external partners when a complex capability needs to be explained fast

Keep everything you write shipping at the same pace as the product – no long cycles that lag behind releases

Establish lightweight standards and templates so written materials stay consistent as the company grows

Ability to create video tutorials with voice-over commentary

Requirements

3+ years writing technical documentation for software or engineering products, with a portfolio that shows both developer-facing and end-user work

Ability to read code, API specs, and technical designs well enough to write about them without hand-holding

Proven ability to interview engineers and self-source information – you find what you need rather than waiting to be briefed

Strong command of writing and publishing tooling (docs-as-code, Markdown, Git, static site generators, API tools like OpenAPI/Swagger)

Clear, precise writing and a strong sense for structure and audience

Advanced English (C1/C2)

Nice to have

Exposure to defense-tech, geospatial, computer vision, or other complex technical domains

Experience being the first writing hire and standing up the function from scratch

Comfort with diagrams and visuals (architecture diagrams, annotated screenshots, short how-to media)

Startup experience and comfort with ambiguity and fast change

Security Eligibility

Our platform is actively used by the Armed Forces in live operations. As an Estonian-Ukrainian defence technology company handling sensitive operational data, we have a responsibility – legal, ethical, and practical – to ensure the integrity of everyone on our team.

All candidates must be able to confirm the following:

Neither you nor your close relatives (parents, spouse, siblings, children) reside in Russia, Belarus, or temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

You have no regular personal, financial, business, or professional contact with individuals in those territories.

You consent to a deeper security verification if the process advances to later stages.

If any of the above criteria are not met, please do not proceed with your application.

Why Farsight Vision

We are a startup operating under real-world conditions – our product is in active deployment, and the pace reflects that. You'll have full ownership of everything we publish, with direct access to the engineers and users who shape it, and the freedom to build the function the way it should be built. We value people who solve problems over people who wait for instructions, and who stay curious as the technology evolves. If you want your work to directly support the Defense Forces and you're motivated by impact over process, you'll fit here.

Flexible working hours. Paid vacation and sick leave. Direct access to founders and leadership.

Application Process

Apply with your CV and a brief cover letter explaining your interest and relevant experience

Short practical assignment – write up a small piece of real functionality so we can see how you translate technical input into clear material
