The Scout is their flagship product, now in its third generation. It bridges the gap between ROVs (good for close-up work, limited range) and traditional AUVs (wide area coverage, poor resolution in currents) by delivering millimetre-detail optical imagery across hectares in a single mission. Missions are planned and reviewed through a point-and-click tablet interface, and two operators can carry and deploy the system from shore or any vessel without specialist support.

Originally developed for offshore wind and marine research, the Scout expanded into naval use. In June 2025, Lobster Robotics signed a launching customer contract with the Royal Netherlands Navy at the NATO Summit in The Hague, making the Dutch Navy their first military customer. At NATO's REPMUS exercise in Portugal in September 2025, Scout 3 identified underwater targets within twenty minutes of receiving target coordinates, integrated through TAK alongside US Navy Mk18 Remus vehicles. Dutch operators reached independent use within three days of training.

The company progressed through both phases of NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) programme, selected from more than 1,300 applicants. Their contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence was awarded within four months of completing Phase 2, supported by NATO's Rapid Adoption Action Plan (RAAP).
