Job Description

Do you want to work on a New Class of Unmanned Aircraft? Our product universe spans three different platforms with maximum take-off weights of up to 1000 kg and characteristic dimensions of 8 m: The hexacopter Grille for medical evacuation, the multi-role rotorcraft Wespe for logistics and support operations, as well as the fixed-wing drone Bussard for surveillance and intelligence missions. All systems are powered by RasCore, our highly redundant, military-grade avionics system for safe operations within EASA’s Specific Category. Three aircraft, one mission: to bridge the gap between small UAVs and traditional manned systems.

Description
Have you always wanted to know how information finds its way through thousands of cables in an aircraft? Do you believe that one line of code can change the world? As an avionics engineer at AVILUS, you will develop cutting-edge airborne electronic systems that allow unmanned vehicles of several hundreds of kilograms to operate safely - even under the worst circumstances. You'll collaborate closely with neighboring disciplines to cover all relevant aspects, from supporting the system architecture development, including system integration activities, to safety-critical embedded software development for airborne systems.

Tasks

  • Avionic equipment level, software- and hardware-item requirements development

  • Avionic component selection, evaluation and integration

  • Prototype avionic hardware item conceptual design

  • Inter-connection system design and integration for the airborne and ground segment

  • Interface database management

  • Component supplier management

Qualifications

  • Degree: Completed degree (Master) in the domain of aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable programs

  • Experience: 3 years of practical experience in aerospace engineering

  • Method-Knowledge: Fundamentals of avionics, electrical systems, digital communication (CAN, ARINC, Serial)

  • Tool-Knowledge (mandatory): Microsoft Office, MATLAB/Simulink

  • Tool-Knowledge (optional): SysML/UML, ANSI C, Polarion
