Job Description

The Flight Measurement Division (CC-F) has an opening for a full-time Development Engineer (m/f/d) for FPGA-based systems, starting July 1, 2026.

Your tasks:

  • Development, maintenance, and further development of FPGA designs in VHDL for measurement and communication systems

  • Design and further development of architectures for digital signal processing as well as control and interface logic

  • Simulation, timing analysis, optimization, and verification of FPGA designs

  • Modeling and pre-verification of signal processing chains using MATLAB or Octave

  • Integration of FPGA components into embedded systems with microcontrollers or soft CPUs (e.g., Nios II)

  • Development of low-level software in C for controlling and integrating the FPGA modules

  • Interconnection via embedded bus systems (e.g., SPI, I²C, Avalon-MM, AXI, UART, Ethernet)

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field

  • Solid knowledge of digital logic development and FPGA design (VHDL, simulation, timing analysis)

  • Strong programming skills in C for embedded systems

  • Knowledge of MATLAB or Octave for simulating and analyzing digital signal processing

  • Experience with FPGA development tools (e.g., Intel Quartus Prime, ModelSim, or comparable)

  • Knowledge of embedded communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet)

  • Basic understanding of digital signal processing is a plus

  • Knowledge of Java and/or Linux driver development is desirable

  • Proficiency with laboratory and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer) is a plus

  • Good written and spoken English skills

  • Analytical, structured, and team-oriented approach to work, as well as a hands-on mentality
