Luxembourg's tracked defence tech positions are dominated by OQ Technology, a satellite IoT company based in Wasserbillig. The company accounts for nearly all current listings in the country.
OQ Technology builds and operates a constellation of LEO satellites providing IoT connectivity and, from 2026, direct-to-device smartphone coverage. Roles span hardware engineering, software, marketing and operations. Hardware and software roles make up about half of positions.
OQ Technology operates in English. EU and EEA citizens can work without a permit. Non-EU nationals generally need an employer-sponsored combined work and residence permit. Luxembourg's small size means most defence-related coordination happens through NATO and EU frameworks rather than a large domestic defence establishment.
