Are you an experienced CAD / Mechanical Design Engineer who is able to help us produce the necessary drawings and specifications, in line with industry recognised standards, in a company on the precipice of a huge contract delivery? Key Responsibilities

Metis is seeking an experienced CAD / Mechanical engineer on an interim basis to provide knowledge transfer to our design and production teams. The key focus will be to mentor a junior CAD engineer, to expand their knowledge of mechanical engineering and best practice in an aerospace and Defence environment, particularly in the use of tools and analytical techniques such as CFD, thermal, stress / FEA and vibration. As part of the role, the engineer would be expected to carry out hands-on design, fabrication, and manufacturing activities.

Essential Experience & Skills

• CAD Tools

• Mechanical design

• Analysis tools - CFD tools, thermal, stress / FEA, vibration

• Aerospace / Defence documentation standards

• Team leadership, staff mentoring & training

Desirable Experience & Skills

• Electronic design

• Fusion 360 CAD tool

• DO-178C experience

• Hands on electronic & mechanical fabrication

• AI augmentation of design tools

• 3D printing
