Defence Tech Companies in Lithuania
Lithuania has committed 5.38 per cent of GDP to defence in 2026, one of the highest allocations in NATO, with spending rising from €3.2 billion in 2025 to €4.8 billion the following year. Vilnius has become the primary hub for a cluster of around 80 defence tech companies, many of them drone-focused startups that have shipped hardware directly to Ukraine, including Granta Autonomy, which had over 1,000 units on order after battlefield testing. Rheinmetall is building a €180 million 155mm artillery ammunition plant in the country, the only such facility in the Baltics, due to come online in early 2027.
