La France possède l'un des rares écosystèmes de défense européens capables de concevoir, produire et exporter de manière autonome la quasi-totalité d'une chaîne capacitaire, du sous-marin nucléaire au satellite d'observation en passant par l'avion de combat. Cette profondeur repose sur un socle de maîtres d'œuvre historiques et sur une base croissante de PME technologiques. La loi de programmation militaire 2024-2030 a débloqué 413 milliards d'euros sur sept ans, avec une forte priorité donnée aux munitions, aux missiles et aux programmes de drones après le choc ukrainien.
