Counter-drone has become one of the fastest-growing segments in European defence since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine demonstrated how cheap commercial drones could paralyse conventional forces. Companies like MyDefence, Sentrycs and DroneShield are scaling RF detection, jamming and hard-kill systems to meet demand from militaries that are now procuring C-UAS as a standard infantry capability rather than a specialist niche. Directed energy and multi-layer defeat solutions are moving from trials into procurement, with NATO members running urgent operational requirements that did not exist three years ago.
